This was a mock phishing attempt to collect P&G information
This was a mock phishing attempt sent by Wombat Security on behalf of P&G Information Security. Phishing refers to the practice of hackers sending fraudulent emails in order to introduce malicious software onto Company networks and steal sensitive information such as login IDs, passwords, credit card details, confidential information, and more.

This mock phishing attempt was completely anonymous and your name/email was not collected or reviewed by P&G. These mock emails are designed to provide a safe, hands-on experience of what phishing emails look like, along with providing additional training on how to identify them in the future. Please keep a look out for additional training opportunities coming from CyberSecurity Training (noreply-security@pg.com) via email.

If you suspect an email to be fraudulent forward it immediately to secinrep.im@pg.com and then delete it. Do NOT click on any links and do not open any attachments in the suspicious email.

Familiarize yourself with the indicators and examples of phishing emails from the graphic below

  1. Includes bad grammar and misspellings – legitimate companies will ensure the content is accurate.
  2. Makes a threat that requires you to do something – for example, your account will be closed or suspended unless you provide personal information; a package will be returned to sender if you do not respond in a timely manner; or bank will be notified if you do not make a payment, etc.
  3. Contains embedded links – A link in the email may look valid, but you can see where the link actually takes you by hovering over – not clicking on - the link with your mouse. Analyze the underlying link, not the link you are clicking on. You can always Google the name of the company to find its real URL, phone numbers, or additional contact information.
  4. Requests your personal information – legitimate companies do not request personal information via email.
  5. Addresses “client”– legitimate companies typically know who you are and will identify you by name.
